Both my children love attending these classes. Staff are friendly, welcoming and keep the sessions fun and interactive. The club is a family and both my children have made many new friends, whilst having fun.

The dragons classes are made up of lots of multi skills activities chunked into smaller burst which prevent the kids from becoming disinterested and disruptive. Making them manageable and enjoyable.

The juniors classes give the children different opportunities to practise the varying skills they need to pass their gradings. They are given individual feedback in order to help them improve and continue to progress at the right rate for them.

The classes allow everyone to grow in confidence and ultimately have lots of fun

Absolutely lovely staff who are really good with the kids. There is always a great range of activities to keep the kids interested and developing new skills. They are flexible with days if you can’t make your usual class, which is amazing.

It’s very thoughtful that at the end of some classes they sit the kids down to discuss that the moves they use in class aren’t for home, school etc.

Would highly recommend as a friendly and fun kids martial arts class!

I started at the Warrior Factory in February 2015 at the age of 46, I felt like a fish out of water at the first but all the instructors were really supportive and gave me lots of encouragement as I struggle with co-ordination . At first there weren’t many adults training but the numbers have really increased since I started. What I enjoy most about learning taekwondo at the Warrior Factory is not only learning a new sport and getting fit but how training has really helped my confidence to believe in myself that I can achieve and learn new skills. I even competed in my first sparring competition at 48! My aim is to get my black belt by the time I’m 50 and I’m on target. You are never too old to learn a new skill I’m proof of that.read more

Looking for martial arts in leeds?

If you have been looking around for martial arts classes in Leeds for your children or family, you have come to the right place. Our Leeds martial arts club was setup in 2014 and has been teaching Taekwondo and Ju Jitsu to families in Leeds ever since. After starting in a church hall in Horsforth, the club then opened its first full-time martial arts centre in Wira Business Park before eventually moving to its new location a few hundred metres away on the same road. The new unit is a standalone building that is ours full time and has its own dedicated car park to make drop off and pick up as pain-free as possible.

The objective of setting up the Leeds Warrior Factory was to provide a central place to teach families martial arts in Leeds. Built off the success of the original Warrior Factory in Halifax set up in 2009, the Leeds club was formed as a Community Interest Club that exists to serve its members. We pride ourselves in providing a professional service while operating as a not for profit club.

While our martial arts classes are a great form of exercise, they are so much more. Phill Payne started teaching martial arts in 1996 and over the last 10 year has acquired both a BSc and MSc degree in Sports Coaching while building the programmes we use today at both Warrior Factory venues.

The biggest compliment we receive is that the club is like one big family. Our mission is to ‘Develop good health and well-being through person centred martial arts coaching’.

Want to get started at our Leeds Martial Arts Centre but have a question?

We have new students starting with us all the time so you won’t be on your own. When you start, you will join a class of students with similar abilities.

Rest assured that all our members started from White Belt and like you, everyone had a first session. While we cannot guarantee you will get your Black Belt, we have yet to meet a student that trained consistently with full effort that didn’t reach Black Belt.

Getting through the door and into your first session is the hardest part. Although we have a hand full of high performance competitors, almost all our members start training for health and well being reasons.

You pay for sessions on a monthly basis by Direct Debit but we don’t use contracts or have a minimum sign up period. If you want to stop training at any point, all you need to do is cancel your direct debit

Our classes cost between £4.00 and £7.50 a session (Paid monthly by Direct Debit) and this includes access to our online training portal. This allows you to supplement your ‘in person’ training with a little training at home.

If your children are 6 years or older, we have family Taekwondo classes running at the Leeds venue 4 days a week. As a family martial arts club we love working with families in the local area and as long as we have space in your prefered class, you would be more than welcome to join us.

We have students between the ages of 3 and 61 training in our venues. Age is just a number and you can start at any age. If you are towards the older end of the scale when you start, gradings will take in to account your starting point.
